Obituary for Joyce E. Quinn

Joyce E. Quinn, 82, of Caspian, Mich., passed away Thursday, January 28, 2010, at Iron River Care Center, Iron River.
She was born February 20, 1927, in Glidden, Wis., daughter of the late Edward and Ethel (Greenshield) Hultquist. Joyce grew up in Glidden and graduated from Glidden High School. In September, 1946, she married James Quinn in Glidden. He preceded her in death on January 29, 2004. Joyce and James lived in Glidden for a short time before moving to Rhinelander, Wis., and finally to Caspian in 1955.
Joyce worked for many years at F.W. Means, now Aramark Services. She enjoyed cross country skiing, camping, taking trips with her sisters, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family, spending time at church, and maintaining a close connection to her Glidden roots.
She is survived by one daughter, Colleen (Michael) Holmes, Iron Mountain; one son, Patrick (Betty) Quinn, Waukesha, Wis.; two sisters, Gladyce Keilhofer, Jeanette Stoltz, both of Glidden; one brother, Charles (Joyce) Hultquist, Glidden; four grandchildren, Christopher (Amanda) Holmes, Katie Holmes, Kyle (Jennifer) Quinn, Meghan Quinn; two great-grandchildren, Michael, Colin; many nieces and nephews.
Joyce was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Schroeder, Dorothy Rein; and one brother, Ronald Hultquist.

The Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home, Crystal Falls, is serving the family.
Visitation will be Monday, February 1, 2010, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at St. Peters Lutheran Church, Stambaugh, Mich. The memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday at the church. Pastor Ed Starkey will officiate. Burial will be in Glidden, Wis.
