Obituary for
Joseph R. Fosnight
Joseph R. Fosnight, 71, of Crystal Falls, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2014, at Northstar Health Services, Iron River, after a long battle with cancer.
He was born December 1, 1942, in Fort Wayne, Ind., son of the late Eugene and Marie (Mahnensmith) Fosnight.
Joe moved to Crystal Falls in 1978. He worked as an independent electrician and also worked in maintenance at Connor Sports Flooring until his retirement five years ago. Joe enjoyed bowling, boating, camping and fishing. He could frequently be found on his deck boat in the Michigamme Reservoir.
He is survived by one daughter, Dr. Kimberly (Dr.Tony) Scarlassara, Crystal Falls; one son, Mike (Marlyn) Fosnight, Calif.; two brothers, John Fosnight, Ossian, Ind. and Gene (Risa) Fosnight, South Dakota; one sister, Bivian (Dan) Oldsen, Ft. Wayne, Ind., two grandchildren, Madison and Gabriel, Crystal Falls and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Anita (Jim) Hower, Ossian, Ind.
A gathering of Joseph’s family and friends will take place, Thursday, December 4, 2014, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home, Crystal Falls, to celebrate Joseph’s Legacy of Life.
