Obituary for Ann Mari Gibson (Stockinger)

Ann Mari (Stockinger) Gibson, 49, of Crystal Falls, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2015, at her home.

She was born August 20, 1965, in Kalamazoo, MI daughter of Mat and Lillian (Burke) Stockinger.

Ann Mari grew up in Crystal Falls and graduated from Forest Park High School, Class of 1983. She went on to attend Colorado Christian University in Lakewood, CO. and Black Hills State University in South Dakota. Ann Mari married Brent Simon on January 5, 2009, in Burkburnett, TX. They resided in Texas a short time before moving to Crystal Falls, in 2010, to be closer to her parents. She attended Maranatha Assembly of God Church, Kingsford, MI. Ann Mari enjoyed sewing, gardening, spending time with her family and could always be found helping others. She coached her daughter’s Little League team and was a Children’s Pastor. Ann Mari enjoyed volunteering her time at Sunshine Floral in Crystal Falls.

She is survived by her husband, Brent; her father, Mat Stockinger, Crystal Falls; two sons, James Gibson, Iron Mountain and Jeremiah (Nancy) Gibson, Wichita Falls, TX.; two daughters, Melinda Gibson and Sarah Grace Gibson, both of Crystal Falls; one brother, Max (Jill) Stockinger, CA.; four sisters, Carolyn (Duane) Luedecking, Kalamazoo, Pat (Dave) Noble, Newburgh, IN., Pamela (Lee) Larson, Ishpeming, MI and Rita Semke, Ishpeming; three grandchildren, Lillianna, Mykah and Jackson and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ann Mari was preceded in death by her mother, Lillian Stockinger; one daughter, Jessie Gibson and two brothers, Kurt and Karl Stockinger.

Visitation will be held Saturday, August 1, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Maranatha Assembly of God Church, Kingsford. A Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, 11:00 a.m. at the church. Pastor Dave Wilton will officiate.
