Obituary for
Gerald J. "Jerry" Jossens
Gerald John “Jerry” Jossens, 83, of Norway, Mich., passed away Monday, October 5, 2015 at the Oscar G. Johnson Veterans Hospital, Iron Mountain.
He was born March 1, 1932, in Norway, son of the late Phillip and Mamie (Ahleck) Jossens.
Jerry grew up in Norway and graduated from Norway High School, Class of 1950. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955, until being honorably discharged in 1957. Jerry worked at the Niagara Paper Mill for over thirty years before retiring.
He enjoyed mowing and taking excellent care of his lawn and the lawn at the church, hunting and especially making his own homemade wine.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Louise; two sons, James (Nancy) Harper, South Dakota and Aaron (Terrie) Harper, Niagara, Wis.; two daughters, Diana (Zach) Krantz, South Dakota and Kim (Calvin) Palmer, Green Bay, Wis.; four grandchildren and five great-granddaughters.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by one brother, Walton Jossens and one sister, Adeline LaPointe.
Visitation will be held Saturday, October 10, 2015, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Grace United Methodist Church, Norway. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, 3:00 p.m. at the church. Rev. Irene White will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date in the Norway Township Cemetery.
