Obituary for Clyde D. "Snoopy" Van Ess

FLORENCE, Wis. – Clyde D. “Snoopy” Van Ess, 73, of Florence, passed away Friday, April 15, 2016, at the Golden Living Center in Florence.

He was born July 11, 1942, in Green Bay, Wis. son of the late Fred and Ruby (Rickel) Van Ess.

Snoopy grew up in Green Bay and attended school there. Upon graduation, he joined the United States Army and served his country from 1962, until his honorable discharge in 1967. He attended N.W.T.C. in North East Wisconsin and mastered rebuilding starters and alternators. Snoopy worked as a mechanic on farm equipment in Pound, Wis.

He loved spending time with his son and enjoyed cooking for him, especially breakfast. Snoopy enjoyed riding the trike he built and was very proud of it.

Snoopy is survived by one son, Aaron Van Ess ; his adopted son, Jason Van Ess and adopted daughter, Kelly Van Ess; two brothers, Lyle Van Ess and Maynard Van Ess and one grandson.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by and infant sister, Fay and one brother, Elroy.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the caring staff at the Golden Living Center for their exceptional care of Snoopy.

In accordance with Snoopy’s wishes private family services were held.
