Crystal Falls-Joann M. Waldo, 62, of Crystal Falls, Mich., passed away Monday, July 18, 2016 at her home. She was born August 19, 1953 in Crystal Falls, to John and Marie (Perykasz) Mlinarcik.

Joann married her high school sweetheart, James Waldo, on September 30, 1972 at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Crystal Falls. He preceded her in death on October 5, 2015.

She graduated from Crystal Falls High School. Joann worked at the Crystal Manor Nursing Home as a nurse’s aid for many years. She received an award for the Most Caring CNA. Joann also worked at the Iron County Medical Care Facility as a Restorative Therapy Aid, retiring in August of 2015.

She was a member of Guardian Angels Catholic Church. Joann enjoyed baking, reading, praying, gardening, and was an exceptional loving care giver to her husband, Jim, and will be remember for being so caring and giving to others.

Joann is survived by her mother, Marie; three sisters, Adrianne (Donald) Cheatham, Crystal Falls, Carol (Horrace) Cain, Texas, and Jean (Bruce) Forstrom, Crystal Falls; one brother in law, Alan “Butch” (Sherry) Hermanson, Arizona; four nephews, Jeff (Teresa Sawyer), Tim (Meagan), Steve (Kerry) and John; two nieces, Debbie (“Tucker”) and Keri (Ryan); and by great nieces and nephews, Caitlin, Timmy, Giselle, Kevin, Danica, Sam, Lauren, Benjamin, Amelia, Alexia, McKenna and Katarina.

In addition to her father, John and husband, James, Joann was preceded in death by one son, Nicky James Waldo.

Visitation will be held Saturday, July 23, 2016 from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at the Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home, Crystal Falls. Prayers will be recited Saturday, 10:30 am at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, 11:00 am at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Crystal Falls. Rev. Fr. Jose Maramattam will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls.
