Obituary for
Kenneth W. "Uncle Kenny" Westcott
KINGSFORD- Kenneth W. Westcott 56 “Uncle Kenny” of Kingsford, Mi. formerly of Niagara, Wi. passed away on Wednesday, November 9th, 2016 at Dickinson County Healthcare System. After a long and hard fought battle with cancer, Kenny, surrounded by love of family and friends flew free into eternal peace.
He was born October 2, 1960 to loving parents George and Donna Westcott whom he adored. Kenny looked forward to being greeted by his Mom whom he missed and was especially fond of.
Kenny attended school in Niagara, in addition to a career as head mechanic at Lar-el Bus service where his outstanding achievements earned them a five-star rating he worked at Niagara Automotive and also as an over the road truck driver. He was always known as a loyal and hard working employee and friend.
Kenny loved going to camp, hunting and the peacefulness of the woods. He was an incredible cook and was planning new recipes to try during the winter.
He enjoyed four wheeling, road trips, cleaning guns and sharpening knives.
Kenny was a humble, caring, giving and gentle man. He always gave more than he had, “family” was very important to him.
Kenny was inspired by the strength and beauty of the eagle. He had a passion for collecting eagles because they represented “freedom”.
Kenny is survived by his companion of many years his cat "Shabilly" chosen and loving family, best friends and caregivers, Jeanne and Rick Bartels, their children Kristin (Dean), Jordan (Sam-caregiver), Michael and two granddaughters who were the apple of his eye, Bianca and Athena and dear friends Elaine and Ernie Bartels.
In addition to his siblings he is survived by close friends Greg Rysewyk and the Bill Butterfield family and all his extended family and friends who loved and will miss Ken dearly.
At the request of Kenny, there will be no immediate service, a memorial celebrating his life will be held during his favorite time of the year next summer and will be announced at a later date by the family.
