Viola M.  Carlson (Parkansky)
Foster City-Viola M. Carlson, age 90, entered into Eternal Life Friday, June 2, 2017, at Manor Care Health Services, Kingsford, Mich.

Viola was born January 1, 1927, in Milwaukee, Wis., daughter of the late Steve and Anna (Angi) Parkansky. She was raised in Carbondale, Mich. and graduated from Stephenson High School.

Viola married Carl Carlson Jr., And together they settled down in Foster City, Mich. and began raising a family. He preceded her in death in August of 2013.

Viola was a stay at home mom in her younger years and later worked and retired from Hancock Wood Products in Kingsford.

She enjoyed canning vegetables from her husband's garden; she loved growing flowers in her beautiful yard. In her later years, she enjoyed working difficult puzzles and visiting with friends and family who were invited to help with the puzzle making. Viola enjoyed times with family at the family camp, visiting with grandchildren and being as involved as possible with them. She Group.

Viola is survived by her best friend and faithful companion of many years Blackie; three daughters Barbara (Robert Lantz JR.), Patricia (Terry Cryderman, Linda (Andy) Zamot; six grandchildren, Rob (Ann Marie) Lantz, Christie Lantz, Tracy (Matt) Tregillis, April (Nick) Harwath, Mike (Shanta Winkka) Zamot, Brian (Ashley Montrose) Zamot; seven great-grandchildren, Jessica and Jason Harwath, Marissa Peterson, Julia Lantz, Leah Zamot, Liam Tregillis and Kora Lee Zamot; one great-great-granddaughter, Hailey Peterson; four sisters -in- law, Tanya Parkansky, Anne Parkansky, Milly Carlson and Evelyn Carlson; two brothers-in-law, Howard Carlson and Kenny Carlson and by special friends Becky Bishop and Jeanette Bafile.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Carl, of 60 years, Viola was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Arnold and Louis Parkansky.

Viola's family would like to thank all the staff at Manor Care and Dr. Jacobs for taking such good care of her for the past 6 Months.

Graveside services will be at Foster City Cemetery, Foster City, Mich., Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Carl Bishop will officiate. Coffee will be served after the service at the Mission Covenant Church.
