Obituary for Roger E. Palenske

Amasa-Roger E. Palenske, 80, of Amasa, Mich., passed away Monday, July 17, 2017, at Iron County Medical Care Facility, Crystal Falls, Mich.

He was born April 30, 1937 in Des Plaines, Ill., son of the late Frank and Helen Palenske. Roger attended and graduated from high school in Des Plaines, Ill. and went on to attend Michigan Technical University at which time he was drafted into the United States Army. He served in the Army, reaching the rank of Sergeant before being Honorably discharged.

Roger married Paulette Chabot on May 29, 1994 in Waukegan, Ill. They resided in Morton Grove, Ill. where Roger worked as a splicer for Illinois Bell Telephone Company for 34 years until he retired on Sept. 29, 1995. They moved to Crystal Falls, Mich. in 1998 and later to Amasa, Mich. in 2006.

Roger enjoyed many hobbies including, snowmobiling, four wheeling, water skiing, fishing, bike riding, camping, the outdoors and the time he spent with his two dogs, Dewey and Dusty.

He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Paulette Palenske.

Burial will be held in Hematite Township Cemetery Amasa, Mich.
