Obituary for David John Herrick

Florence – David J. Herrick, 72, Florence, Wisc. passed away Thursday, October 12, 2017, at Florence Health Services, Florence.

He was born August 13, 1945, in Waukesha, Wisc. son of the late Marvin and Grace (Heil) Herrick. David grew up and graduated from Waukesha High School, class of 1963. While in high school, David was named an All American as a diver. After graduation, David went on to serve our country in the U.S. Marines. Upon his honorable discharge from service, he attended Platteville State College where he received a History Degree. David later went on to the University of South Dakota and graduated with his law degree.

David married Anna Savino on September 25, 2009, in Spread Eagle, Wisc. He was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Iron Mountain, Mich.

David was an attorney in Niagara, Wisc. for over 40 years and served as District Attorney for Florence County for 10 years. He was a court commissioner for Florence County, published in law review, served on the Board of Directors for the First National Bank of Niagara, member of the Wisconsin State Bar, enjoyed woodworking, cutting grass, and especially time spent with his family.

He is survived by his wife Anna Savino-Herrick, Spread Eagle; two sons Andrew Herrick and Matthew Herrick both of Florence; three stepsons Michael, Chicago, Ill. and Mitchell (Christy), Virginia Beach, Va., and Edward, Madison, Wisc.; one brother George (Jimmie) Herrick, Upland, Calif.; one grandson Zachary and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held Monday, October 16, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at the Jacobs-Lundholm Funeral Home, Florence. Funeral service will be held Monday at 6:30 p.m.at the funeral home. Rev. David Johnson will officiate. Burial will be Tuesday, October 17, 2017, 9:30 a.m., Woodlawn Cemetery, Florence.
