Obituary for Rosemary R. Menza (Conery)

Iron Mountain-Rosemary R. Menza, 88, of Iron Mountain, Mich., went to her heavenly home on Monday, October 30, 2017, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility, Crystal Falls, Mich.

She was born September 7, 1929, in Iron Mountain, Mich., daughter of the late Phillip and Lucille (Leardi) Conery. Rosemary was a lifelong resident of Iron Mountain. On June 9, 1951, she was united in marriage to Walter R. Menza Sr. He preceded her in death.

The greatest commitment is love and she lived it. Rosemary will be remembered for her kindness and caring of others, she truly lived the beatitudes through her family and friends. Sometimes a little feisty streak would appear, which made her life very rewarding. Rosemary was employed at T&T on 5th Street in Iron Mountain. Her quick wit and humor made her excel in all she did, especially to those who know her. Rosemary also had many talents, sewing, gardening, cooking and especially baking, from which everyone benefited. No one ever left hungry. Most of all she cherished her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They all have their own special “Grandma” memories. So many receipts, songs, and short road trips to name a few.

Rosemary will be sadly missed by her two daughters, Luann (Mark) Bolander and Phyllis (Greg) Zambon; three sons, Walter R. (Christine) Menza, Bill (Bobbie) Menza and Ward (Rhonda) Menza; one sister, Margaret Menza, one brother-in-law, Leslie Walters; one sister-in-law, Barbara Conery; grandchildren, Jeff Zambon, Alison Zambon, Melissa (Sam) Lorusso, Beverly (Brian) Walker, Jordon and Travis Menza, Morgan Menza, Whitney (Jon) Beauchamp, Alyse (Brian) Driscoll, and Tony and Blake Menza; great-grandchildren, Hailee and Wyatt Zambon, Tre Lorusso, Megan, Zachary, Logan Milliron, Reece Richie, Jayce Schrandt, Myla and Walter Beauchamp, Maddox Menza and Payton Menza; many nieces, nephews and relatives.

In addition to her parents and husband, Walter, Rosemary was preceded in death by one daughter, Margaret Ann, one sister, Joan Walters; three brothers, Phillip, Joseph and Earl “Manny” Conery; son-in-law, Jeff Zambon, special neighbor, Karen Walstrom, and one nephew, Wayne Conery.

Visitation will be held Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain, Mich. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, November 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary-St. Joseph Catholic Church, Iron Mountain, Mich. Rev. Fr. Janusz Romanek will officiate. A eulogy will be done by special friend, Deacon Don Christy. Burial will be in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain.
