Obituary for Nina N. Harden

Iron Mountain-Nina N. Harden, 95, of Iron Mountain, Mich., passed away Monday, December 18, 2017, at Dickinson County Healthcare System, Iron Mountain, Mich.

She was born January 22, 1922, in Crittenden County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Charles and Grace (Hardesty) Harden. Nina grew up and graduated high school in Tolu, Kentucky. She went on to attend beautician school and worked as a beautician for a few years in Detroit, Mich. until she took a position at the GM Cadillac plant where she worked on the final assembly line for 25 years. Nina along with her husband moved to Iron Mountain where they owned and operated Lewis Standard Gas Station for a few years. She later moved to Evansville, Indiana, where she worked for Ingram Barge as a cook on their tow boat for 25 years.

Nina enjoyed reading, good movies, and bird watching.

She is survived by one daughter, Phyllis Lucas, Iron Mountain, Mich.; five grandchildren, Jill Rochon, Iron Mountain, Mich., Janice (Tim) Ramer, Neillsville, Wis., Jerry (Sarah) Trumbley, Ishpeming, Mich., Tristen (Justin) Mosley, Booneville, Ind., and David Kazianka, Indiana; eight great-grandchildren; and one nephew, Don (Sue) Hardesty, Evansville, Ind.

In addition to her parents, Nina was preceded in death by one daughter, Paula Kazianka; and one sister, Marjorie Brown.
