Obituary for Frank Hoholek

Crystal Falls-Frank Hoholek, age 90, of Crystal Falls, Mich., passed away Monday, January 22, 2018, at Iron County Medical Care Facility, Crystal Falls, Mich.

He was born March 10, 1927, in Buck Lake area, Mich., son of the late Nicholas and Agnes (Jacobinski) Hoholek. Frank graduated from Porter High School, Alpha, Mich. Class of 1945. He then enlisted in the Maritime for 3 years. When Frank lived in Alpha in the 50’s and 60’s he was very involved with the community. He owned a general store for 15 years. Frank served as president of Alpha-Crystal Falls Credit Union, Village Board Member, Assistant Fire Chief, Secretary of the 424 Association, he served on St. Edwards Parish Board and was a lector and usher. Frank was an active member of Guardian Angels Conference and the St. Vincent De Paul Society for 12 years. He was awarded the UP Top Hat for his achievements in 2003, also served as usher. For 3 years he served in Destin, Florida and Corpus Christi St. Vincent De Paul Conference. Frank sold his general store in Alpha in 1970 and moved to Eagle River, Wis., where he was an active real estate broker for 20 years, retiring in 1990. He then returned to his hometown.

Frank enjoyed outdoor sports and was an avid Packer Fan.

He is survived by his wife, Dolores Hoholek, one son, Bob (Barb) Hoholek, Muskego, Wis., one daughter, Debbie (Ron) Schilling, Waterford, Wis.; two grandchildren, Mark (Debbie) and Elizabeth; two brothers, Lou Hoholek, Buck Lake District and Stosh Hoholek, Crystal Falls.; and by one sister, Steffie Ventimiglio, Warren, Mich.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters.

Frank was generous with his time and talent helping others and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In accordance with Franks wishes private family funeral mass will be held at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Crystal Falls, in the spring. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls.
