Iron Mountain-Michael W. Haberkorn, 48, of Aurora, Wis., passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018, at his home.

He was born October 18, 1969, in Iron Mountain, Mich., son of William and Dianne (Schmidt) Haberkorn. Michael graduated from Whitefish Bay High School, Class of 1988. He went to work for the Union as an x-ray technician, working for Acuren and Longview Corporations for many years throughout the Midwest. Michael relocated back to the area in 2014.

He enjoyed sports, snowmobiling, wake boarding, fishing, motor cross racing and especially playing cards with his family, teaching them many different games. Michael will be missed by his many friends and especially his family.

He is survived by his mother, Dianne Haberkorn, Iron Mountain, Mich.; three sisters, Sheri (Jeff) Peecher, Ohio, Karen Counter, Aurora, Wis. and Jona (Brian) Braden, Spread Eagle, Wis.; four nephews, Morgan Counter, Austin Hoey, Briar Braden and Bennett Braden; and by five nieces, Ashley Podnar, Bridget Meneghini, Talor Counter, Hannah Braden and Kameron Braden.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, William Haberkorn; one uncle, Jack Haberkorn, and by one brother-in-law, Robert Counter.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 2, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Homes, Iron Mountain, Mich. A memorial service will be held Friday, 6:30 p.m., at the funeral home. Rev. Fr. Matt Settle will officiate.
