James D. Schabel
James D. Schabel, 78, of Aurora, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2015, at his home.
He was born July 5, 1936, in Aurora, son of the late Maynard and Leona (Liddel) Schabel.
Jim grew up in Aurora. He married Lucille Bartlett and she preceded him in death on December 25, 1995. Jim at an early age worked as a logger and mechanic; he worked at Grede Foundry for many years before retiring.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and was very handy; he could always be found welding or fixing things. Jim enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
James is survived by two sons, James (Teresa) Schabel, Appleton, Wis. and Larry (Sharon) Schabel, Aurora; one brother, Willard Schabel, Aurora; three sisters, Sharon (Joe) Lisbon, Wyo., Clarie (George) Moser, Md., and Dianna Zahorik, Aurora; nine grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Lucille, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Cynthia L. Morgan; two brothers, Bruce and Ken Schabel and one sister, Evelyn Schabel.
Visitation will be Friday, January 23, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Niagara Chapel. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
The family has chosen the Jacobs Funeral Home, Niagara Chapel to honor Jim’s Legacy of Life.
