Obituary for
Roger T. Pedo
Roger T. Pedo, 77, of Iron Mountain, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at Dickinson County Healthcare System, Iron Mountain.
He was born September 13, 1938, in Iron Mountain, son of the late Louis and Rose (Bruno) Pedo.
Roger was a lifelong resident of Iron Mountain and graduated from Iron Mountain High School. He went on to attend the Seminary at St. Lawrence in Fond du Lac, Wis. and later St. John Seminary in Detroit. Roger left the Seminary to pursue a career in teaching and after receiving his bachelor’s degree he taught for many years at the Dickinson Area Catholic School. He was an active member of St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church. Roger was an avid Detroit Lions Football fan, enjoyed Karaoke and volunteered his time entertaining at the Senior Center, Family Ties Adult Day Care and the local nursing homes. Roger enjoyed visiting with family and friends and he will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by two brothers, Donald (Rose Marie) Pedo, Iron Mountain and Jerry (Janice) Pedo, Texas; one sister, Rachel Struck, Milwaukee, Wis.; several nieces and nephews, including Terese (John) Fortier, Iron Mountain, Rosalie (Doug) Bluekamp, Iron Mountain, Daniel (Ann) Pedo, Iron Mountain, Steve (Hien) Pedo, Milwaukee, Gary Pedo, Iron Mountain and Michael (Yuseon) Pedo, West Orange, N.J. and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by one brother, Robert “Bob” Pedo in 2012.
Visitation will be held Saturday, January 9, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church, Iron Mountain. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, 11:00 a.m. at the church. Rev. Fr. Janusz Romanek will officiate. Burial will be in Norway Township Cemetery, Norway in the spring.
